Yelloware Santa with Apples S203

Bring a piece of New England folk art into your home for the holidays with this handcrafted Yelloware Santa. This wonderful Santa figure was inspired by Early American Yelloware, hand crafted using an antique German chocolate mold.

The art of molding plaster of paris, referred to as chalkware, into holiday treasures is a centuries-old German tradition.

Bittersweet House Folk Art brings together the German tradition of folk art chalkware with the warmth and charm of yelloware from early American colonial days and offers a unique, handcrafted treasure that will last a lifetime.

The German Belsnickle Santa was individually cast using a wonderful highly detailed antique German chocolate mold and is handpainted with my Signature Yelloware finish. The piece is then glazed, antiqued and polished to give it the beautiful appearance of an early Yelloware bowl. The Yelloware Santa displays beautifully with Redware, Spongeware, Rockingham, Salt Glaze Pottery or Pfaltgraff America.
This absolutely charming Santa figure, measuring approx 8 inches, is signed "Bittersweet House Folk Art, K. Campbell, 2007, Sherborn, MA".
