A Fusion of Traditions. The R194 Yelloware Rabbit measures 6 inches wide and is hand-cast from a highly detailed rare antique German chocolate mold. This piece uniquely combines the honey-toned warmth of Early American yelloware with the rustic tradition of Pennsylvania redware.
The rabbit is finished in a signature yelloware pigments, while the pedestal base features a hand-painted redware finish. Of special note is the **Sgraffito and Slip** tulip design on the base—a technique inspired by 18th-century Pennsylvania Dutch Fraktur motifs. The entire piece is glazed, antiqued, and polished to achieve the time-worn patina of an authentic colonial treasure.
Product Details: Measuring 6" x 4.25", each figure is individually hand-cast and hand-painted. Every piece is signed, numbered, and dated on the bottom: Bittersweet House Folk Art, Kathryn Campbell.
For a sophisticated Easter display, place the R194 at the center of a primitive wooden dough bowl filled with dried moss and speckled eggs. The contrast between the smooth yelloware finish and the textured Sgraffito base also makes it a perfect companion for Mochaware or Salt-Glazed stoneware collections. To fully lean into the Pennsylvania Dutch aesthetic, pair this rabbit with antique brass candlesticks and a framed piece of Fraktur art.
