The Folk Art Chalkware Mother Rabbit and Baby Bunny

This 4-inch chalkware Mother Rabbit is a unique study in American and German folk art fusion. Cast from a rare antique chocolate mold, she is depicted carrying her baby in a hand-painted cloth pack.

I have decorated the pack with delicate floral blossoms, while the black base of the piece features a traditional border design inspired by early American folk art. This combination of the rare German casting and the soul of American primitive painting makes this a truly distinctive signature piece.
