Standing 5 inches tall, the S476 Farmhouse Christmas Chalkware Santa is cast from a rare antique German chocolate mold that exemplifies the classic Belsnickle silhouette. This piece belongs to the "Sherborn Era" of the Bittersweet House collection, reflecting an Early American Folk Art aesthetic born from the artist's time in a historic New England farmhouse. It is a celebration of the centuries-old German tradition of holiday chalkware.
The Santa's coat is hand-painted with an intricate Fraktur -inspired German motif. The ornamentation uses a traditional folk palette, carefully layered to create a weathered patina that suggests decades of holiday history. To complete the winter scene, Diamond Frost glass glitter is applied to the beard and the snow-covered base, providing a crystalline vintage shimmer.
