Tapestry inspired. The S616 is a masterwork cast from an antique German chocolate mold, then hand-painted with a Tree of Life motif drawn from historic textile traditions. A deer stands at the base of the tree—an emblem of calm and grounding—while scrolling vines and winter florals rise upward in a balanced, storybook composition.
The palette and ornament are informed by 17th–18th century crewel-work embroidery, where raised wool stitching created depth and rhythm across botanical scenes. On this figure, the mold’s high-relief surface echoes that dimensional quality, allowing the deer and blossoms to read like needlework translated into paint.
