The background is a masterful atmospheric gradient, transitioning from a rich cerulean blue at the shoulders to a luminous aqua-tinted twilight at the snowy horizon. This “magic hour” palette is designed to make the hand-painted village windows appear to truly glow against the cooling sky.

The village scene flows seamlessly around the figure—snow-dusted rooftops, miniature evergreens, and warm window light—creating the feeling of a sleeping town seen in the hush of night. Due to the intensive time required for this level of blended brushwork and detail, the S799 is crafted in very limited numbers. Each piece is cast from an antique German mold and meticulously hand-painted. Every Santa is hand-signed, numbered, and dated on the bottom: Bittersweet House Folk Art, Kathryn Campbell.
