The Artistry

Standing 9 inches tall, the S800 is a breathtaking tribute to the seafaring heritage of New England. Cast from a majestic antique German Santa with lantern chocolate mold, this Santa serves as a panoramic tribute to the historic Gloucester Harbor. The wrap-around narrative depicts a 19th-century maritime whaling scene, complete with hand-painted schooners and the rugged, rocky coastline of Cape Ann.

The Narrative Detail

This piece is a true 360-degree work of art. While the front captures the action of the harbor, the reverse reveals a stately lighthouse perched atop a cliff, guiding a fully-rigged sailing vessel through the twilight. The palette is inspired by the North Atlantic—featuring deep ocean indigos, weathered slate greys, and the warm glow of the harbor lanterns.

The Fine Details:
To bring the scene to life, the artist uses a sophisticated stippling technique on the whitecaps of the waves and the snowy docks, mimicking the look of sea spray against the dark Atlantic. This piece is a "designer's design," blending high-end fine art painting with the traditional weight of chalkware.

*Note: While this piece is shown in its classic matte finish, Diamond Frost glass glitter can be added to the base and beard elements upon request for a vintage crystalline shimmer.*

Of Special Note:
Because of the intensive time required for this level of nautical storytelling, the S800 is produced in very limited quantities. Each piece is individually hand-cast, hand-painted, signed, numbered, and dated by Kathryn Campbell.
